At any rate, I don't see the legal status changing anytime soon. Research is now again allowed on LSD and the very few scientist who are legally allowed to make it, would have to find some extraordinary discovery to change the minds of the public. Learning about drugs in psychology class is.. Comical. They don't say a single positive thing about it. I mean come on, some of the greatest minds of our world were into acid....
That. And over and over repetition of stories, regardless of truth. Like the Art Linkletter propaganda. And the famous Time magazine story. Ad nauseam. Whenever you see essentially the same story told over and over and over in various forms of media, it's a good idea to look deeper rather than drink the kool-aid.
It's comparable to the whole "marijuana kills brain cells" argument. People are fucking militant about this idea. It's pathetic. You try to tell most people that weed doesn't kill brain cells and they scoff at you.
Looks like we got ourselves a reada. :sunny: That would be looking deeper AND drinking the kool-aid. Made me laugh GB. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvs2g5Nj0NI"]Bill Hicks- What your reading for? - YouTube
I believe Hoffman developed the molecule from Psilocybn. If they legalized it, they'd have to legalize psilocybn. Anyone can easily grow mushrooms - if it were legal to grow, there would be no way for privateers and governments to make money from it.
My local police officer stated it is illegal because it opens your eyes to a lot of heebie jeebies and jib jab.
Knew this question sounded familiar. Here are my thoughts on the subject from a recent thread; (too lazy to retype it )
This has nothing to do with the truth. I hope you don't TAKE lsd, thinking this sort of thing about it, do you?
LSD is a lysergic acid derivate synthesized from the fungus Ergot and Medicinal plant Squill Although there are similarities to psilocybin, it is NOT the same thing. LSA and LSD however share many similar traits. Hofmann was actually the person to find that psilocybin was the psychoactive ingredient in magic mushrooms though. But cluster headaches are treatable by both LSD and psilocybin, so it is very possible that if one were to become legalized that the other would be too.
Hahaha what an eye-opening answer from an 'authority' figure, as long as lsd doesn't give me the willies them I am A-OK with heebie jeebies and jib jab.
That is an interesting way to look at it, we can also never detach ourselves from our own culture and thus have this constant air of comparison. Weather from the common culture or the alternative, negativity towards the other is given. In social psychology their is something called contact theory, basically it says that with enough contact to the "other" prejudice will erode, in essence it shows that we are all essentially the same with the same fundamentals, culture is a rationalization process, that is all, it should not define us! Anyway the point im trying make is that our only difference is our opinion, i am a huge pot and lsd advocate and have had many a discusion with friends many,of whom sat greedly sipping on beer asking me if i will ever give up pot. Are you going to give up drinking? In my view it is the far worse evil....anyway my weed induced rant comes to end in saying the culture is subjective, there is no escaping it and we can only count our blessing to have the culture that we are immersed in, however it is within our power to change our subjective culture and in turn help morph the culture of people around us, with that will come understanding and change, hopefully to somewhat more of a peaceful world.
I didnt know the answer to that at all until i read the second post about the counter culture and stuff and then the schedules of drug lists...Its bullshit...Psychedlics and pot should be legal.....Controlled at best....I doubt that day will ever happen but yeah perhaps pot.....Americas population would go through the roof LOL the possiblity that one day pot smoking facilities will be governed across our country which is great is high LOL...Perhaps even mushrooms..........Lsd i doubt will ever be legal....
^Pot will I can say confidently will be legal in our life time. It has too strong of a demand, and people have already kind of started accepting it. People light up daily (well nightly) in this school/park near my house.. the cop car comes down everyday and just passes by. It just seems like it's not even a big deal for kids to be out smoking, cause, that's just what you do at that age. And even downtown Denver has medicinal plants as widespread as starbucks coffee, it's just slowly forming a comfort in everyones lives. So I think it will come. LSD.. I don't know. I wish it were legal, but at the same time, I think it's almost safer being illegal. Cause the people who are going to do it have to learn about it first to some degree. Also, just the fact that it isn't searched for really in drug tests, or the fact that blotter and candies can go all around the world with no legal action involved-there's some sort of lack of threat. And I know this doesn't sound right, but from what I've experienced, some people just shouldn't take LSd. Idk, I use to wish everyone could experience it, but I just witnessed a dark lost soul last night, and it dragged us down to a place I don't want anyone to experience.. I wish there was a way to get a prescription, that would be my wish for LSD, you have to take some class so you can take it safely or something.. Idk I personally feel like some knowledge is required, but that could just be for me Shrooms.. I still need to try them. But I feel like a certain part of the fact that it's natural requires that it be legal. It's unjust to illegalize a natural plant of nature, there's studies about how even animals have the natural desire to change the way they think, alter their mind. Elephants love alcohol, and they will go after it all day, horses chew some weird stuff. And there was this weird theory about giraffes and DMT, didn't make much sense, but Shrooms have just been a natural part of life since the beginning of time. I think the theory goes Moses was tripping shrooms on the mountain when he came down with the 10 commandments, but whether or not, shrooms were still tied into many cultures and individuals to this very day. We're just ill informed of the details of these substances. I'm hoping Steve Jobs' word will carry some effect. I mean i just don't get it with psychedelics, because it really inspires great thought if we could just embrace it
Ya. Most of us that have had psychedelic experiences don't get it. I agree with the pot thing. There's a slow change happening, people realizing en masse that it's not the demon weed of 'Reefer Madness' days, that decades of propaganda is wrong. The thing with the legalizing/licencing plan for LSD... there were/are proponents of that idea going back to the 60's. That's a double edged sword I feel. The govn't doesn't exactly have a great track record in that approach either. Would the improved safety (I.E. controlled access, regulated purity) counteract the negatives? Who knows but probably not, going on past track record. I'd have to disagree there. Many kids don't, hence some of the bad things we hear about when the media gets ahold of another 'kids on drugs' story. In the end, I feel the reason LSD is illegal, is the same reason the 2C's are getting banned. It's the same story over and over. Some bad trips/deaths happen, the media reports it, people get in an uproar about it with no accurate information only hyperbole and propaganda, certain individuals have an alterior motive, and politicians need to look 'responsive', and they're banned. It's not some big conspiracy... It's one big combine, the machine...
Because Some People really do turn into the batshit crazy version of Brad from 12 Monkeys, Some even morph into a form of Tyler Durden, trust me on this. They dont want a bunch of Space Monkeys runnin' around... I am Jacks Shit eating grin. :cheers2:
