I don't think the fact that we have to pay to get inside a venue for a band now is the reason why most music is bad. This is not nam, Donny, there are rules here! Yeah, expensive concerts that make me skip certain bands and more rules causing me to smoke my J outside instead of in front of the stage are bothering me as well but that we don't have free concerts in the park no more is for different reasons. I'm sure it would make it feel more special but it was just free because it was a new thing, restrictions and costs were coming pretty soon after that already.

I dislike focussing on the word underground, it doesn't have a special meaning for me (if somethings popular/mainstream then that's great) but it seriously seems the case there far more often. Not just because they can't break through (maybe they don't break through exactly for that reason...) and of course they wanna make money on their tours but it just looks... well, more real. More ment to be like what they are or want to do and not another mainstream stage act which can look and sound unique as well but also has all the ingredients in it to make it a commercial succes. Of course this is not always the case ;)

I don't mind if some music is mainstream, but it has to be GOOD and not just cut for the charts. Incidentally, most music that's "commercial" seems to be more melodic or "emo", as it is accustomed to say nowadays.
