I quite clearly laid out the rule of no personal attacks. Obey the rules or you will be gone.

I think the OP is in essence is attacking the choice to be single on grounds of sin....I feel that I -as a single and non christian person am being attacked for my choices.

The OP is disagreeing with the act, and offering what the OP feels is a suitable alternative. The OP did not call anyone names (except implying sinner, which the OP elaborated on to say everyone is, including the OP), and stayed within the bounds of what is acceptable. You can claim offense to the OP's disagreement with your personal choice, but cannot claim that the OP made a personal attack on you. Disagreeing with someones view point does not constitute harassment, accusational name calling (brainwashed freak) on the other hand, does.

You can disagree all you want, but stooping to name calling does nothing to advance your cause.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Why can a christian fundamentalist, whom I consider fucked up in the head as exibited by the first post in this thread, get away with attacking my entire sexual philosophy with some tripe about jesus and mary, and yet I cannot rebut and call their sex negativity what it is, some misguided religious mumbo-jumbo that has been proven harmful over the last century or more.

There was all sorts of anti-masturbation horror stories from the 18th and 19th century, including infibulation of the foreskin to penile amputation. Clitoridectomy is still practiced by religious fanatics (now mostly Muslim) in many parts of the world.

Masturbation is not a sin unless you believe it to be. Sin is completely subjective and unprovable.

Masturbation is a healthy release (if teen boys don't whack off they will have wet dreams to take care of the overflow.) It does not deplete any vital fluid (as Chinese philosophers also expound BTW). It does not prevent one from forming a relationship in future or in present (most married men still whack off - with or without their wife's knowledge).

I say if someone comes on a Masturbation forum board with that kind of brazen attack, then we have a right to attack back.

Just my humble opinion of course.

this doesn't make any sense. how am i doing anything wrong if i am merely touching my own body that a supposed "god" gave me? is this specifically stated in the bible? by your definition, everything is a SIN!

what if i'm eating some food? what if i'm sleeping? is that energy "wasted" because i'm not doing something to help others? what about you? aren't you wasting energy because your sitting on hipforums, and not out clothing the naked and feeding the poor?

    who fed you this tripe???

The Bible does not, as many fundamentalists would have you believe say anything against masturbation. The reference they always use is the story of Onan 'spilling his seed on barren ground', yet if you look to the precise description of Onan's sin and why it was considered a sin it was because he had sex with his brother's widow, as was required of him under Hebrew law because his brother had died without issue (a son), but his sin was to withdraw at the point of climax, so as to avoid insemination - nothing to do with masturbation at all.

One thing that IS referred to as a sin much earlier in the Bible is the act of being clothed - right back in Genesis, after they had eaten the fruit from the tree of knowledge (in real terms, probably puberty, when kids start to ask questions about their sexuality) when Adam & Eve saw that they were naked, as God had made them, 'and were ashamed', and dressed themselves in fig leaves, yet how many religious fundamentalists insist on being naked, as God had originally intended?

As with all things religious, it's just another case of selective reading & preferred interpretation.

That part about Onan has been so misinterpreted centuries ago, that the act of masturbation, besides being called "self abuse" was called "onanism."

I wrote an article on the sex-negativity in relation to masturbation prolly before many on this board were born. :D

premature ejaculation = time required for her to come - time required for you to come. In my opinion it's a fancy way of saying that men masturbate too often, but then there are two sides to every coin...

For instance if a woman was accustomed to stimulating herself to orgasm on a regular basis theoretically it might take less time to achieve climax when with a partner. My hypothesis here is that ease of climax is directly related to frequency of climax, or familiarity of climax. Put another way, how often you taste the rainbow.

I agree, why should some newbie be able to attack all the forum members and we can't say anything in our defense? I do not view what the other guy said as offensive or a personal attack. He is just stating his opinion, which is what this forum is all about.

Um... OK, Wow. And I thought 17th century puritanism was a thing of the distant past. I guess not.

First up, I don't think the whole puritan bible belt mentality is going to go over well on a hippie site. We have many Christians on the boards but most people around here seem to take a dim view of the more totalitarian fundamentalist retoric, of which this post seems to be a pretty good example.

Second, there are a lot of us, myself included, who aren't religious and take a dim view of people who want to judge us based on their own messed-up, product-of-religious-brainwashing beliefs.

My point is, if you don't like mastubation don't do it, but don't judge everybody else cause they don't meet your puritanical religious standards.
