Why Not Quit the ACLU?

Why not just quit thinking altogether and we'll all be frelling one celled organisms again. Oh, wait, they're called Christians.

I would stop my ACLU in protest of the WBC case. Let them know in writing. Then renew your membershp when the WBC case is over. That would send the message to the ACLU that you dont support them taking WBC cases but you can still support future free speech defending which the ACLU does mch good.

The ACLU needs to bring the blood warrants to the hgher courts ASAP. Especially wth marijuana becoming legal. Cops will be wanting blood from every driver with bloodshot eyes. This will be a serious issue. Cops used to only want warrants for blood when a accident or injury was involved. Now anytime a person does not consent to a breathilizer cops get warrant.

 

Really? I disagree, based on observation. Now that weed is basically a traffic ticket, folks are getting DUI's if they're caught driving, less of a hit than drinking and driving, otherwise it's an infraction if they catch you burning one on the street.

And the funny thing is it's because the govm't is so broke they can't afford to enforce the laws against it.

So basically my personal motivation for being part of the ACLU is gone.

I was a card carrying member for years. I used to go to the meetings, then I decided it was a waste of time, month after month would go by and nothing would happen as a result of my time and effort, other than being able to preach to a group of high school students every year about the importance of understanding your rights, which was pretty cool--yet there were still serious discrepencies between my personal philosophy and the ACLU's, like Shale, so I baled.

 

Shale, stay as a dues-paying member. That way your opinion of how they run their ship does count.
