I don't fully understand what happened actually lol. Was this man a doctor who was using medical marijuana on patients with presciptions and instead of having them smoke it he was putting it in hershey's candy?
Yah man FUCK NESTLE AND FUCK HERSHEYS! Last year my dad sued Nestle Co. and won $6 Million because they stole my dad's patent in 1993 for their cat litter line called "Purina". They fucked my dad out of millions, and they are greedy lying basterds. FUCK EM ALL. and I aint lying my dad has a United States Patent the patents number is 5,176,107 for "Abstract Pet Litter". Don't let big corporations take control.
digitalldj-- well I havent been around here much until recently so I didnt know what kinda of response I would be getting... some canadian pro-cannabis message boards reacted a lot differently than this board and some other message boards have thought it was a joke so I wasn't completely sure... I guess I know what to expect. Bud toker-- All doctors in the medicinal marijuana states do is perscribe marijuana to the people that they feel need it in order to ease the side effects of their given disorders. Most medical marijauna states feel that you need to be suffering from a dehibilitating disorder in order to be perscribed this type of medicine so no Kenneth Affolter was not a doctor. There is an additional aspect involved in medical marijuana in the U.S. and that is that since the U.S. government has not rescheduled marijuana it still has no medicinal value from the perspective of the federal government. That means that compassion centers in medical marijuana states or any place that grows/supplies medical marijuana to patients who are prescribed it by doctors are illegal by federal law. All of the people that either grow medical marijuana or distribute it know that they are breaking the law but they see their work as humanitarian in nature and continue to do it. Kenneth Affolter broke the federal law by distributing marijuana (in candy and soda form) to medical marijuana centers throughout california which is a medical marijuana state. He took marijuana from medical growers and it turned it into pot-infused candy bars, "pot" tart pastries, and ganja sodas. He did this so that medical marijuana patients could ingest their medicine without having to dish out $500 for a volcano vaporizer and so that they didn't have to inhale tar and other carcinogens in the process of smoking their medicine. Additionally in order to make the product cute and appealing, he played with major recognized labels... hersheys, nestle candies, pop tarts, coca-cola, pepsi-cola products, etc. and altered them to make them stoner-oriented. He received a 5 year sentence in Federal prison for distributing marijuana even though it was for medicinal marijuana patients-- he clearly understood that was a risk he would have to be willing to take in order to make this product accessible to the patients that needed it. He made very little profit from these products so while this was his job, he did it more to help people than become a multi-millionare (which he is not). This is where it gets tricky... while in jail, Hershey's Chocolate Co. has decided to sue him for copyright infringement for $100,000. An amount of money that he does not have and no other company... kellogs, pepsi, nestle or any other company logo that he chose to alter has waged an additional lawsuit against him. So I urge you and everyone else in this thread to BOYCOTT ALL HERSHEY PRODUCTS until they drop their lawsuit from Kenneth Affolter. The Hershey's Co have been discussing these boycotts with numerous cannabis activists and with Cannabis Culture magazine (which will be featuring additional information on the discussions in their next issue) and it looks as though the boycott is making progress... all we need is more support from the cannabis community. Abstain from Hershey's products... there are numerous other sweets and treats that are equally as good and a lot of them are more healthy anyway. Shit, snack on some fruit
lol seriously plannig to secretly boycott Hershy's which is the largest manufacturer of chocolate AND non-chocolate confectionary? Not to mention Nestlé owns part of Hersheys and IS the largest food and beverage company in the world. but uuhhh good luck man im rooting for you.
In that case he: 1. Broke the law so of course he should be in jail (though no one is argueing that point) 2. Violated the hershey's candy product line and one could say he falsely advertised hershey's candies. But why the hell would hershey's want a mere $100,000? It's rediculous for a company of that scale.
Please tell me this is all a joke and/or a nightmare. I love chocolate! I love candy. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Boycotting hershey wont do anything, there are waaaaaay too many fat people in America for us to even make a dent.
For everyone who says the boycott wouldnt do anything... obviously it is doing something if Hersheys has been so willing to initiate discussions about the lawsuit... I think that if all you kids who think it wont work participated it would probably be more effective.
Think about it for a second... I'm sure you can come up with a wide array of alternatives to curb your munchies. I just ate some chips.
That's been said about many boycotts and protests before. It wouldn't hurt to try (if you think it a worthy cause).
I made a thread about Hershys a while ago. The general point was that Hershy's is shit and the chocolate tastes like hot sweaty ass.
