Christening happens when you're a baby, its that thing with the font where the priest puts water on the babys forehead and blesses him Baptism is generally anyone older then that...and is full immersion in water I think.
You realize that baptism has its roots in teh Jewish practice of cleansing onself after they have become unclean? Wow, how insightful. Idiot.
Well, I am not technically a theology student yet as I have yet to take a course in it BUT I do know the correct answer. Baptism is the act of the pouring water over, dipping in water, or full immersion in water that traces it's roots back to ewish cleansing rituals. Depending on the denomniation, baptism may be just a public dedication of your life to God, or cleansing yourself of original sin, as well as other sins. Christening is like a welcoming into the church community. It is more common as a seperate thing in churches that perform infant baptisms while in churches that generally do older child or adult baptsms, it will usually be combined with baptism. But don't take what I say as gospell truth I may be mistaken...I will double check wikipedia about christening.
Not unless you want the po-po after you Yeah, and after checking wikipedia, and religioustolerance.org, I couldn't find anything about the two ceremonies/words difference, so I checked the dictionary and Christening is the naming at a baptism, and CONFIRMATION is what I was thinking of as christening... I wish I had a saint name
That is me! Quite an idiot actually. Especially when I am in a bullshit rant kinda mood, fueled by copius amounts of illegal substances
Maybe I was Christened then. Not baptized tho They handed me a bible and said Welcome! aaaaahahahahahaha I can't believe Trevor called someone an idiot.
I can tolerate ignorance, but idiocy is just plain annoying. And no amout of illicit substances can be an excuse...
