I backcombed one last time to help my hair knot a little... because it's so straight naturally and it's short. View attachment 45831
So was full-retard for backcombing! but I guess you're right we have to learn the hard way. It was dumbed down enough for me now so I understand that the dreads I want require..doing nothing! Anyways!! I've got an update. I don't comb anymore. I just wash with baking soda and use seasalt/water. Plus there's a wool sweater on my pillow..and generally it just gets messed up by wind n such as nature intends. View attachment 45841
Ran into a friend I havent seen in awhile, told me I should palm roll my hair. I said i'm using the neglect method and she said don't neglect love them.
Your dreads are sooo beautiful!!! I finally took that advice btw. It wasnt really improving them at all continuing to backcomb. Just letting them go wild. :2thumbsup:
The back of my head in the middle and most of it isn't knotting up at all! The area that completly resisted my backcombing completley at the beginning and was basically just " fuck you" LOL...so atleast in the long haul the ones in the back will be neglect. If they ever come the fuck along.. Like i'm not asking for much. but its like silk back there.
You sleep in your back at all? It took the right side of my head forevers evers to show any progress while the left side was fattenin up just fine. I realized I never sleep on my right side. Forced myself to for a bit and noticed mad progress. Just a thought.
The same for me, one side seems much more dread-like than the other. With short hair like that, the backcombed ones you'd half expect to do that anyway. Just give it time Speaking off undreaded hair... On the top of my head, it's like someone has decided to just comb out one dread. There's this perfect section of hair, about one dread worth, that is long, smooth and far from knotted what so ever. Be fun to see how it goes along
