It was 80f here yesterday. Today it feels more like fall. This area has a few seasons: two weeks of fall, one week of spring, a mild winter, and a 6 month summer.

It's going to mix with cold air from the north and transform into a wicked winter storm.

Tropical Storm force winds of 50 mph with occasional gusts of 75 mph, heavy rain, and beach erosion :hide:

You're right nothing more than an average umbrella day [IMG]

Along with the weather systems aimed at each other, they are including that the full moon will also enhance the tides. Talking about major power outages. The Red Cross is getting mobilized.

Glen your umbrella does not stand a chance in this storm. :hide:

    Hello,

I live more or less in a valley and we got 15cm yesterday. That's enough to break some trees and to start a snowball fight, but not enough to build a snowpy I guess ;).

Yeah, I was asking you. Because I read on some online news portal that it's really bad in the northern part of Germany.

Really? Page 5 and no jokes or pics of Ed. Stark?
I am disappointed in the internet right now.

    Shame on you all.

    Hello,

it depends on how 'really bad' is defined. The weather alert in my area is dismissed since, hm, I think earlier this day. The biggest problem is that the snow is really wet and trees and transmission lines are not built to carry that load, so it's a bit unsafe to walk under them. They had more staff (and more work) in the rescue and operations centers than at a usual weekend. But it's far away from being catastrophic. I don't know for sure, but I think it's more or less the same for all parts of the country.

    Regards
    Gyro

    Hello,

having snow falls in october that doesn't melt instantly is a bit unusual in my area. I'm at a higher latitude than lets say Montreal, but we have the Gulf Stream. That keeps us toasty ;).

I swear Christmas takes over Halloween a little bit more every year. Next year, I'm going as Dead Santa.
