when isnt the news eating bens dick?.
it seems there was a general lack of fan base this year.. People are bored with the steelers. Maybe the rich people are not. But the poor people cant go out and buy $300 dollar(trademark) t-shirts year after year.. I didnt see a bunch of houses decked out in B&G either.
Football is a pacifier, and it seems a few people where I live grew up, or grew tired of it. Not saying everyone I know.
I do know, many people on the south side were thankful they lost.
They didnt have to waste more officers on the street and it seems kinda dumb if you ask me. Since all the money earned in businesses is offset by destructive behaviors of drunken sports fans.
I suppose the only ones really earning anything from this are Law enforcement , bar owners and state and county...

But aside from all that.. You know Im happier, than happy Gilmour.. :afro:

 

I think the scandal really hurt the Steelers' popularity overall.
But the youth have been focusing on hockey more for a while now; with neighborhoods like Bloomfield and organizations like the Boys and Girls Club having youth hockey programs, and Crosby just exploded all of that.
Someone in TribPM made a point that whereas you used to see a bunch of Steelers gear at the hockey games, now you'll see Pens' blue sprinkled about the football games.

I wear my Batman shirt for Steelers' games =P And my brother's handed down black and (yellow) gold as my Pens' shirt.

I disagree. I'm still mad the Pens changed their gold from yellow to tan.
