That begins with the individual. After all, any system of man is made up of individual men.

You can't at once make 1000 people value something, but you can try and convince 1 person who will pass that on and so on and so forth. This is probably how each and every religion started, passing on values, one to the next.

    I don't know that that's true.

I think if plastic surgery were easily available, there would be a huge trend and then it would fall out of favor.

Admittedly. But blaming people for cultural values that were passed onto them for years in a largely subconscious manner will simply make you hate everyone.

I simply do my best to not buy into aspects of the system which I can't make sense of - and I try to not force my limited perspective on others.

I actually agreed with the other thread. I don't think there is anything attractive about a woman that is fake from head to toe.

That doesn't mean women can't play up their natural feminine features. I'm about as natural as they come but I still wear make up from time to time. I love wearing dresses. I paint my toenails. I like to do fun things to my hair. I love love love being a girl.

Its basically boils down to the lesson every woman should learn when she starts wearing makeup: you want to emphasize your natural features, not cover them up completely.

As an aside, we stick skinny girls are real tired of having people assume that we are doing something extreme to look that way.

why should wearing makeup, jewelry, nail polish etc. be considered feminine? In many cultures throughout the world these things are all done by men. It has been sold to us that men do this and women do this. it is the same concept of boy and girl colors. Its the same idea that being a man means being macho and working hard in the mine and chopping really big shit down. its all just an illusion. i love when people break the borders and guys wear lots of makeup and high heels and stuff because it is almost like a satire on what we think is reality. the same goes for when women let their leg and pit hair go wild and when people let their hair dreadlock.

I personally can not stand wearing makeup, skirts, or nail polish but I am very feminine.

    To OP

It doesn't matter Heat, if what you wear feels comfortable then why not wear it?! This is the 21 century after all, a books cover wont necessarily tell you the genre.
