And as of now, I'm not replying to you. You are the dense one. I explained my reasoning for what I say, and even provided a link with some information.
Try accepting that you may be wrong.

Also for the record cow milk really isn't that bad for us, it's really not that much different from human milk, the fat/protein/lactose, ect ratios are just a little different. Normally in mammals the enzyme lactaste which is needed to break down lactose in the small intestines peaks after birth, then as animals wean off milk, begins to decline. This is why a large number of people experience to varying levels symptoms of lactose intolerance depending on how much lactose they ingest. However in cultures where milk based products are consumed regularly from childhood, the decline in lactase is often severely diminished which makes the consumption of large amounts of lactose possible for most of life(well consuming lactose is possible for anyone, it's just a question of it's going to give you the shits, gas, ect or not). In fact chromosome 2 in many human populations has mutated so that lactase production never shuts down in the groups it's happened in:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactose_intolerance#Lactase_biology

Now the ethics and just pure strangeness of one animal drinking the mammary milk of another animal is a whole different story.

I still disagree. but I respect that you actually gave reason (which I totally think is valid) instead of saying irrelevant information.
All I can say is, to the original poster of this thread, make yourself informed of the pros and cons of milk. I'm not saying to trust me, or trust the other posters on this thread. You make your own decision based on the knowledge you obtain. Nobody is going to die from eating dairy.
While there's considerable evidence that milk isn't good for you. There's also many claims that go the opposite.

Ah well considering how they are raised... yeah... I'm not so sure I want to say anything. Because then someone will disagree and claim that the animals are well taken care of and their only purpose for living if for us to eat them. So I'm out of this thread. I hope I was SOME help. Lol.

i can only assume you think i will argue this, in that you are wrong again

you completely misunderstand my motives for challenging your bizarre assertions about calves, cows and milk

making false claims about food does nothing but harm to the idea of vegetarianism and veganism

i live in a rural area with lots of farmers and ranchers [and very few vegetarians] and if were to go around repeating your claims about cows [who don't drink milk at all, btw, calves do] i would be laughed out of town

instead i try to be reasonable, since most people think [and apparently they have a point] that reason and vegetarian don't mix

what might reason accomplish? well, it's worked wonders with getting ranchers to restore wetlands to their ranches, meaning local and migrating wildlife are not bereft of habitat where ranchers behave reasonably

some day, provided people don't try to argue nonsensical points about 4 stomachs and milk digestion, reason may even make a vegetarian or two out of them . . .

I said I wouldn't reply to this. But once again, do your fucking research dumbass before you say that I "make stuff up." I personally love dairy, and if it weren't for the way it is, I would eat it all the time.
Shut the fuck up, and go live your fucking life instead of picking on 16 year old girls who know more than you about something.
    Good day.

Oh and, you really are stupid if you think I actually meant that cows have four stomachs, and adult cows drink their own milk.
If you wanted me to talk to you like a child so you could fully understand me, you should have said so earlier.
By the way, my dad is one of the biggest cattle ranchers in Nebraska. You really want to argue with me on how cows are treated? Because I used to see it from all the ranchers around us. Ever been to a feedlot? it's sickening, and they're everywhere.
    Alright. Seriously bye this time.

Wow, in the video it sure is funny how half of the symptoms that being vegan helps with, are related to digestion... HMM. They MUST BE LYING TOO.

    for the last time

cows do not have "four stomachs" to digest milk

cows have "four stomachs" to digest grass

since your dad is "one of the biggest cattle ranchers in Nebraska" you might want to ask him about this

oh, i'm stupid because you say things you don't mean?

and, one more time, i'm not arguing that anyone should drink milk

i'm arguing that vegans shouldn't make shit up, it hurts, rather than helps the cause

    Haha :D
Also, adult cows only drink milk. Their stomachs are not meant to digest grass. You are so silly.
And of course they have FOUR stomachs, I mean look
    http://www.cupofdog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/cow_stomach.jpg
Clearly four stomachs there, because I think cows only drink milk.
Oh, and all those digestion problems associated with consuming dairy are in no way related to the fact that we aren't supposed to be drinking the milk of another animal. I mean, their complex digestive structure is easily the same as ours, thus we should be able to consume dairy with ease.
Oh man, I am so stupid. wa bluska wica you are the smartest person in the world. You should get your own talk show to spread the truth around. Everyone else just must be "misinformed" or "lying."

To TheTruthAndPeaceSeeker, I'm really not as crazy as I seem. (and yes, as much as wa bluska wica keeps saying the same thing over and over, I really do know what I'm talking and am not as stupid as he/she is trying to make me seem)
I apologize for flooding two of your threads with silly fights. I'm argumentative on occasion. Maybe I should stay out of controversial topics? lol
    Sorry again.

who says we're not supposed to be drinking the milk of another animal? are you god?

as far as "consuming dairy with ease goes", i'm pretty sure that humans have been drinking cow's milk, goat's milk, sheep's milk, horse's milk, [fill in the blank's] milk for thousands of years

yet, we've miraculously survived this horror [with ease]

your arguments are enough to make some want to start eating meat and drinking milk

Think about it suckling from another animal!!!!!!!!!! thats just crazy shit.. humans not wanting to grow up- im not vegan anymore altho i balance it out wiv having vegan products. I never touch milk, what ever animal it maybe from, seldom eat cheese eggs or butter- im not saying be millitant but give the animals a break, 1 interesting fact is how much puss is in milk from seeping wounds on the cows. If thats not enuf to make you give up milk
    Shame on you!

    There's no puss in milk...........

It goes right from udder into collection devices. It is then pasteurized and homogenized.

this thread went totally off-track, eh?

no one can say why you should go vegan

i went because i don't care to contribute to a system of suffering

under capitalism, this simply means my money does not go to oppressors, as far as i have any control over it

i would continue to eat what my parents served me, their money and their food are their moral problems

i would let them know of my discomfort, gently, so that they might see fit to modify my portions to accommodate my position [mine wouldn't, but what the hell]

and i would await a future when i can hopefully eat what i choose, and i would learn how things work to avoid non-food issues

btw, this is flexible; i could [if i have to] wear leather bought from a thrift shop, as they are not generally in the business of raising and slaughtering cattle

which means i can limit my income as well

and i can accept meat at social gatherings without unpleasantness

there is nothing like a shrill, rude vegan to turn people off . . .

    good luck with your decisions

    thank you

i agree with you on so much [feedlots, was thinking about them on my porch yesterday, watching cattle cars creeping slowly toward cowschwitz] that it's a shame we fought so

i have never been swayed much by general health claims made against any moderate diet, too much unkown about individual abilities, deficiencies, genetics

    yesterday's remedy becomes tomorrow's killer--and vice versa--far too often

    stay well, kill not
