rOllin! I hope don't mean that you can't transfer to your old boss who gets along with you so great? THAT I would consider doing. I used my retail experience to get a job on campus and I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven. They were so mellow and laid back at the state college. (but not all the supervisors were mellow, so look before you leap). Since you work retail, you can always keep your eyes open for another retail store that is less stressful, maybe a smaller place that is staffed with a bunch of hippies. We've certainly got some of that around here! What do you like to do? If your job relates to your hobbies it might be more pleasant for you. Camping? Pets? Music stores? Computers and electronics? Food? Tanning Salons? Amusement parks? Art supply? A friend of mine worked night shift at a parking lot and he slept all night. When someone wanted to pay cash, they'd blow the horn, he'd wake up, give the guy his change and go back to sleep. I guess he was lucky the boss didn't show up.
Yes I can transfer to where my old boss is, she said she would hire me right away because she needs my help. Im going to tell her though that I will only transfer if I get more hours than I am getting at the other place and that I only work for her and none of the other managers. And my major in school is film & media studies. I wanna do film distribution or something along those lines
good god, transfer already. get your current work friends on facebook or something. you'll make new friends at the new store. shit, i've been transferred 9 times in the last 2 years (back and forth between 4 locations, and i didn't ask for any of them; that's just how this company treats managers). anyway, it's not like starting over, it's just enough newness to keep things interesting. and it's easy enough to keep in touch with old friends, and at the same time, you get to meet new ones too. also, "their" is possessive. "there" is a location.
And to think I usually do well in my english classes, weird huh? and ummmmm some of the people that I have met THERE dont have facebook because they are a bit older. Like this guy from yugo slavia, he is 62 but I can talk to him like hes my age. And theres this 40 year old guy from Italy who can talk your ear off, sometimes I wanna kill him but hes so interesting i love him!!
I would do what's best, for instance, the logical decision would be to better yourself financially and established stability. Stay in touch with your friends from work and all should fall into place
every job you have is going to have good aspects that you'll miss once you move on. the question is whether they outweigh the bad aspects. i can pretty much guarantee there's cool interesting people at the other location too.
ehhh I've been to the other one, they dont look to interesting. maybe im wrong though. And if i do go, ill just be working in the womans clothing department i think. Idk what that has to do with it but thought id throw it out there.
You might want to bring one just in case. The sucky part of the job was sweeping the parking lot once in a while. You need a broom and dust pan, but at least no one will hassle you out there. The sand and tumbleweeds got pretty bad in the springtime. We used to have a few cholos hang out in the parking lot when I worked retail. I got nothing against cholos unless they start hassling the ladies, which they sometimes did. A drunk or paint sniffer now and then, but they were harmless enough. The low-riders were cool. They'd cruise by on the weekends in their glammed up cars with the neon below and boom boxes blasting. Have you got low riders and cholos where you are?
I lived on the border and one of my best buddies was a low-rider from San Jose. He had rigged some kind of reverb on his stereo (engineering student) and it had us laughing like hyenas with the crazy sound it made when he cranked it up. What is this "movie distribution" you want to get into? Is that where you stick a DVD or Blue Ray in an envelope and mail it to someone?
I think going to the new place would be good for you. You always complain about your terrible bitchy boss, and I think working more hours and having a stress-free work environment is more important than having your friendly coworkers. Change is good and somewhat exciting, and it's always nice to meet new people and see new faces. It'll be like starting a new job almost - but you know all that applies. It won't be a hard transition at all. If I were you, i'd go to the new place. You'll enjoy it more and if you really miss the other people at the old place, go and visit them once in awhile or ask the ones your particularly close with to hang out. more money + stress free + awesome boss + meet new friends > shitty boss + less hours
haha i was just yankin your chain bbad i know its not brad haha low riders, they do some crazy things to their cars. and film distribution is working for a place like fox and basically what you do is sell a movie to the theaters or release them on dvd or release them through the tv. I wanna do something along those lines
Yea but for all i know there could be some real assholes at this new place. I think im gonna switch though, i mean last week, the week of black friday i had 8 fucking hours the entire week which is complete bull shit
