obviously the public punishment would have to be done by a certified group of professionals to keep it from getting unruly.

drag a child molester out into the town square where the whole town has gathered and tie him to a pole 20 or so yards from a angry mob with a huge pile of rocks in front of them.. let him feel the fear of knowing the way he is going to die..

let others who may be thinking of committing such crime see what fate awaits them if they dare..

i really don't understand why rape is considered as terrible as it is... people are forced to do things they don't want to do all the time; rape is just forcing someone to do something that most people want to do anyway. when it comes down to it, all that rape consists of is someone touching your vagina. yes i know most rapes are more violent than that, but by definition that's all it really is.

and no, i'm not condoning rape. but you CAN recover from it. there's no way short of divine intervention to recover from being murdered.

I am fully with Undies on this one.

When you murder someone, you take away every single moment they will ever experience. A whole life, full of potential and possibilities, taken by another.

Torture and rape, any form of abuse and violation, is horrible. But you can recover. You can still feel joy and live life.

One could reasonably argue that any crime is far worse when the victim is a child. If one were to argue that, however, one implies that if the victim is old, the crime isn't as bad. But I won't get into that.

As for punishment, well.. execution? Public humiliation? Such punishments say a lot about a society. Of course criminals should be punished, but we shouldn't become savages in doing so. The ultimate goal should always be to rehabilitate. Worst case scenario, use criminals for cheap labor.

 

my point is not that it isn't terrible; it is. but yes, i would rather be ass raped 10 times than be murdered and have my life ended. my whole point was just that i don't see how it's considered worse than murder.
