During the Civil War, Lincoln appropriated powers no previous President had wielded: he used his war powers to proclaim a blockade, suspended the writ of habeas corpus, spent money without congressional authorization, and imprisoned 18,000 suspected Confederate sympathizers without trial.

Lincoln didn't free the slaves and the civil war wasn't about slavery per se regardless of what you've been taught.

Yea, Lincoln's obliteration of states' rights cause today Fed's DEA raids on med-pot patients, gave precedent to Bush's suspension of habeas corpus, imprison ppl without trial like in Guantanamo. If there was no Lincoln, we wouldn't have Bush Jr. today.

George W ain't the worst, what's wrong with all of you?

Reagan's #1, then there's assholes like Harding, Hoover, Lyndon B, Pierce, Buchanan etc.

What exactly makes George W so bad to you people?

Started Afghan War ( with UN )
Started Iraq War ( With Britain )

His economic failures are nothing new of a U.S, Pres.

You people just love to hate him, hell he ain't good but he's not the worst I'm telling you.

well you know i haven't lived through all of them. all the presidents the u.s. has ever had. of those i have, the only republicans who publicly appeared mostly harmless, and this is the best that can be said for any of them in my lifetime, were isenhour and ford.

not that the democrates have been uniformly god's gift to anything either. although both jfk and carter did at least some good. quite a lot of it actualy. though neither entirely innocent of some harm in the proccess. clinton's biggist sin wasn't getting a blow job, but nafta, which sounded good at the time. and lbj could have gotten our buts out of nam when we should have but didn't.

that about covers those i've lived to see. nixxon, raygun and bush II, were all trators to the constitution they were sworn to uphold. and bush I didn't reverse raygun, just stopped publicly and visibly making it worse.

but historicly, before i was born, there have been holders of that office who make the current offenders seem almost tame. washington himself, aside from his womanizing, was known among indiginous people as village burner, and jackson, tyler, and several others' defacto genocidal tactics against native americans make anything sadam hussain or even pol pot and malosivich may have done pale by comparison. even hitler claimed, with some justification, andrew jackson as one of his inspirations.

none of which in any way excuses the current company.

and of course, were even the bloodthirstyist of them, as big an embarassment internationaly to the nation?

    =^^=

JBJ will forever be the worst president ever (and you can quote me on that in 100 years). Bill Clinton was one of the best and he is my idol!

Lol you can tell me w/e you want, but I do not choose to accept what your telling me. I could just as easily tell you that you love to hate Reagan and all the other people you says are horrible. JBJ has been the WORST president in regards to foreign policy, he is horrible with domestic policy as well, he has done NO good for the US, and he has no intelligence.

yeah andrew jackson was way worse than george bush could ever be. he forced the cherokee to move out of the land that they had lived for thousands of years, and who had assimilated into the society pretty well. and then to add on to that, he completely disobeyed the rulings of the supreme court! even bush wouldnt do something that dumb. warren harding was pretty bad also because of the teapot dome scandal and his corrupt administration. ironically neither of them are on your poll!

    The worse president? It goes something like this;;

    1. FDR

    2. George W. Bush

    3. Abraham Lincoln

    4. Richard Nixon

I know I'm going to be jumped on for mentioning Abraham Lincoln and FDR but TRUST ME......I know what I'm talking about. Lincoln was a tyrant.....he imprisoned many people without trial and didn't respect the South's right succede from the union.

FDR banned weed for the first time, took more power from the people and gave it to the federal government, and made people believe that they need government to survive. This of course is a big lie.

I doubt anyone would protest why I put George W. Bush and Nixon here......both presidents were a huge disaster for this country (Nixon with the War on Drugs and Vietnam, and Bush with the Iraq War and the Patriot Act).
