What do you say about him having to pay 25 million dollars for running a scam real estate school? What do you have to say about him driving his casinos into bankruptcy? About stiffing contractors that did work for him? About grabbing pussy because "he's a star"? About making fun of a disabled reporter? "OH, I don't know what I said"!! You oughta think about smartening up.

Some people just gall my ass.

 

Underneath that goofy facade, the man was no fool. It was the corporations, conspiring with the corrupt media who set out to crucify him.
Perhaps the most frustrating part was that here in the UK, we could all see what was happening, but were powerless to do anything about it.
I knew people who worked with him on the making of the apprentice and they all agreed that he was a person who you could have a blazing row with one day, then shake hands and be friends again the following morning.
Once they had slept on it, most people agreed that he had won the argument, often by making points that they had never even thought about.

 

I am not saying that he was a saint, but being open left him open to a single incident being blown out of all proportion by the corrupt media.
When you read about his business failings, did you never think that he knew why businesses in the US were failing due to uncontrolled importing from the far east, with no reciprocal business. It was (and still is) like burning the dollars in the stove.

If you are calling him a criminal, since they manufacture nothing in the US or western Europe, the entire board of Levi's should be behind bars.

This was Americas one opportunity to remove the cancer. Had he had the opportunity to tax the imports to bring them into line, Levi's, along with most other household names would have been bankrupt within 12 weeks.

We will never know how he would have implemented his plans. Hopefully slowly enough to allow cities like Detroit to be rebuilt and people to have the opportunity to take pride in a hard days work.

If the US banned imports from the east today, we would all be running around in our underwear looking for food, and the country would be in a state of civil war.

Sometimes when looking at something from the outside and away from media influence, it is easier to see the full picture.
Far from gloating about the problems, everyone who I know fells deeply saddened by the plight of cities like Detroit. Those same people who worked tirelessly alongside us to protect a shared democracy during WW2.
