This is how I collect metaphors for my book and, sometimes, people catch on that all I'm interested in is what's missing from this picture. Not because life is just a joke, but because accepting our own mortal fallibility is how we learn to appreciate more in life.

Faster does mean better, and you better hope it does, because that's the only thing keeping civilization going right now. A computer a million times faster than the human brain would be so damned fast you could ask the machine how the human brain works, and it could figure it out by trial and error in no time flat. Efficiency and creativity are the issues, and one without the other is a contradiction. AI programs and circuitry, as well as the human brain, leverage the fact they can more efficiently crunch the numbers than classical logic. Quantum systems can be 125% efficient, and modern science is about to measure how they work in the human brain in elaborate detail.

If you draw a graph line with good at one end and a blank at the other, because you do not want to call the lack of good as evil, because you do not want to be seen as a dualist, then I see that as just hypocrisy as some kind of word has to be put at the end of the graph that represent evil, without screwing up grammar.

We think in a dualistic way and that seems top be the right way. At least I cannot think of an issue that does not have a good and an evil side. Can you?

The ancients seemed to recognize this with their use of the metaphor of the tree of knowledge, which is the tree of all knowledge, as all knowledge is subject to being either good or evil. No one has yet to refute this with any piece of knowledge.

Neither did the Jews who wrote Genesis as they see Eden as where man was elevated and not where we fell.

Christians call it a fall, even as they sing the hymn that calls Adam's sin a happy fault and necessary to god's plan.

I often ask Christians if they would follow Adam's lead or if they would not sin and derail god's plan.

As usual with Christians who cannot explain their views, they disappear. They do not like the truth
