Hermaphrodites are worshipped/considered "sacred", if you will in certain tribes in Africa. I believe it was "in" in Egypt also.
LOL :smilielol5: That random thought just occured so I felt it needed to be tossed in there. I'm thinking money wouldn't even influence the situation, for me. I'm not seeing that happening; but, hey - everybody needs lovin' or some such...right?
If you are reffering to me, I was born with an intersex condition, I am not a hermaphrodite.(we are good friends though :love Actual hermaphroditsm is actually extremely rare, though many people wrongly class people with intersex conditions as being hermaphrodites when they are not. As for the "not being able to have kids" thing, most actual hermaphrodites can have kids. And can naturally mother or father a child, whatever they so wish. Intersex people are mainly one sex genetically, and many are perfectly capable of having children. Though some intersex conditions do cause infertility, as can giving a child the wrong medical treatment in childhood and adolescence, due to them being brought up as the wrong gender, which can also lead to fertility problems in later life. (as what happened to me.) That is an amazingly ignorant comment. Why should hermaphrodites only go with women? Unless you somehow equate someone who is half female and half male as being a straight male. (which is incredibly dumb) They should have a right to pick and choose the gender of their partners the same as anyone else does. I do find it highly disturbing the amount of people in this thread who are referring to hermaphrodites in a wholly male context. And also, equating hermaphroditism with being a transsexual or being a gay man. It seems to me, that many people are hellbent on pushing the "male" label onto hermaphrodites (and likely intersex people who physically appear "male" too), which is no different to trying to put a triangle into a square hole. Its as if unless you are born 100% genetically female (which is actually a misnomer, as virtually no-one is born totally one sex biologically, most people just lean far further towards one sex than the other biologically) then you are automatically branded as a "male". Why some people seem to be quite happy to place many with physical sex anomalies into the "male" category, but will with equal ferver refuse to accept them as female is very sad, and equally disturbing. The level of ignorance from some people on this subject is astounding.
