Romance and monogamy, amongst others, are both pretenses that will eventually lead to disappointment.

Society and laws that are based on religion (which is designed to oppress) rather than a common good are what tell us to not cheat...to not be gay...not to be female...and not to be male...

We have to be able to recognize our great human enemies before we say that doing something is wrong just because the sheep herder says so:

• Self Ignorance
• Belief
• Pretense
• Laziness

If one recognizes that humans are not a monogamous species, why should we bind ourselves to religious beliefs that have been hypocritical almost just as long as it has existed. Religion has demonized sexuality as a means of control.

If a marriage includes such vows then I would agree..."cheating" would be wrong. But, to say my boyfriend/girlfriend has cheated is wrong too. Sure, one would have to protect themselves from the dangers of promiscuous behavior today.

Then by your philosophy there should not be anything to hide(because cheating isn't wrong) and therefore no reason to lie or sneak around and he can cheerfully tell his S/O that he intends to have other sexual partners giving her the opportunity to respond according to her perspective on the issue.

Unless of course you don't think it's wrong to lie and that maybe religion has also demonized man's ability to lie, and we shouldn't rob ourselves of the luxury of deceiving others.

I don't see why you pretend that ethics are made up from religion--if God were a pretext to ethics, then every atheist would be as sociopathic as you, but they're not. Social animals at some point decide (whether consciously or not) on what behavior is acceptable and what isn't. In the animal world, those who don't comply or behave in an antisocial (sociopathic) manner are either killed or ostracised from the group.

Lying, not sleeping around, is the antisocial behavior here.
