I think people were always into about anything just in the past they just didn't show it because if they did they would be burned alive.
What'll be interesting is when your sister is no LONGER cute but still thinks she is and can't adjust to the fact people don't overlook these behaviours any more. I was accosted by two elderly crackhead biker chicks at a gas station who seemed to think that they way they acted as teenagers would still "pull" even though they were toothless, stank to high heaven and were obviously tweakers. It did work with some though - they were in the van of a chalky looking black guy breathing noisily through a gaping hole in his neck.
Glad to see the results of the poll are against metrosexual behaviour - i like my men manly !! grrrrrrrrr
Its not about acting like a girl, its about not creating gender roles on how a "guy" should act and how a "girl" should act. If a guy wants to wear pink and go see chick-flicks then more power to him. I really think guys should wear skirts/dresses. The poll has stupid answers and is a stupid poll. It doesn't say "I don't care if guys are metrosexual or not".
my dad walked me down the aisle in his kilt, and after the wedding, everyone kept joking about the "guy in the dress." though they were pretty respectful about it, since my dad was bigger and manlier than all of them.
I'll be me, you'll be you, and if you take a swing at me I'll hit you with a pipe unless I'm fairly confident that won't work..... in which case I may reassess the situation...... meanwhile, all this attempting to come up for all these bullshit nomenclatures is pure idiocy fuck I wish duelling were legal......
Did you guys who are so pissed off actually read the article, or did you just see a few quotes out of context that you find objectionable, and go on a rant? Because I read the whole article, and there are a whole bunch of points in it that I agree with. In fact, I'd even say that I agree with the whole theme. It's basicaly saying that men and maleness is looked down upon nowadays, and attempting to present an alternative that is not degrading to women. I thought that's what we were all here to talk about, right? "M-ness (also known as my-ness) is defined thus: a masculinity that defines the best of traditional manliness (strength, honour, character) with positive traits traditionally associated with females (nurturance, communicativeness, co-operation). A lifestyle that emphasises higher-quality emotional and physical pleasures, male pleasures, that come from knowing oneself and one’s potential. " So what's the problem with that? Do you have any real objection to being strong, honourable, stoic, nurturing, communicative, and cooperative? To taking part in male pleasures and coming to know yourself and your potential? Didn't think so. You guys need to calm down and think before you go ranting on every three women who try to actually address male issues. It would be nice if men wrote these kind of books instead, of course. I suggest you look for "The Myth of Male Power" by William Farrel.
Yeah, I read the damn article. I am not taking advice on being a man from three women, especially if they think I should emulate Guy Ritchie.
Just as I thought. You are not judging based on the merit of the argument, but based on the atributes of the arguer. Try responding to my point instead? And if you'd prefer if men wrote books about the future of the masculine gender roll, than write one. And I don't know who Guy Richie is.
RE: So what's the problem with that? Do you have any real objection to being strong, honourable, stoic, nurturing, communicative, and cooperative? Depends on how you define the above. I wouldn't want to be "mature" by a thirteen year old girl's definition of the word. Guy Ritchie is a film director who Madonna has allowed to live with him.
I think everyone should just be themselves, and partners should love eachother for who they are, not who they want them to be. If a well-groomed metrosexual is up your alley, then good for you - go get ya one. If you like them buff and hairy, there are plenty of those men out there too! If you like the nerdy-guy, the world has those too! I, personally, love all kinds of men! (The geeky-guys are usually the one's that make my heart flutter, though. Allthough, a scruffy tatooed biker is just as thrilling! The only type of man that doesn't generally strike my fancy are the metro-sexual preppy yuppies. hehe.) I have no definition of what a man should be except that he has a penis. Otherwise he would be a woman (or a hermaphrodite). Why should all men be one paticular way? How boring would THAT be. I am sure you men feel the same way about us ladies. It's pretty shallow to base your desires off the latest fad. Fad's come and go, I want my relationships to last longer than a fad.
my sister in law was always into the high maintenance man. ew. any man who spends more time grooming himself than i do is not for me.
Well, there's a good and a bad point to this IMO... The bad point is that these girls keep on generallizing about stupid things. Some of those things aren't even true that they say. Many things have been already socially exceptible. THAT, and some of those things aren't really possible for men, like multitasking, most women have a 'net thinking' kind of thing going on, while men generally are better at 'logic thinking'. I also don't like how they command you to act a certain way. God gave you a free-will for a reason... The good point is that this would give you males more freedom in society, not being bound by 'stereotypes' and crap like that. I'm extremely anti-stereotypical ( and yeah, I'm actually more attracted to guys that have a bit feminine in them, as long as they don't wear lipstick or eyeshadow. eyeliner's OK though. And I like guys that don't have eyebrows that look like they're about to consume you ) So yeah, why care what the world thinks? Everyone should have their OWN personallity, not whine because they aren't as society wants them to be. Society's fit for the pure bull forum... If you want to be manly, be manly. If you want to be stereotypical, be stereotypical. If you want to be a bit on the feminine side ( not talkin' bout being gay when I'm saying that), GO RIGHT AHEAD! G-d don't care. Just get saved first. Well, that's my two cents. -bye ( You may disagree with me, everyone to his/her own...)
I have to say that article is a load of crap. just like the saying women mature faster than men. thats just something women say to make guys agree with them. If you suck my dick, i will agree with anything you say and nothing less. fuck this bullshit.
You would of loved being in the health class they made every freshman at my school take last year. They taught us that "Men are fully mature at age 25, women are fully mature at age 21. They said women are on average 2 years more mature than guys their age." The teacher said something like "If you are a girl and you date a guy 2 years younger than you that is 4 years more immature than you so you should recieve a certificate of babysitting".
