Well maybe ppl who want to destroy their own school b/c school had done unfairness to them. However, if the total identity and loyalty of a school are achieved, then all student of one school will do anything to help any student in their school, thus unfairness to particular students will be eliminated. on violence, the identity itself should be fueled with pacifism, in order to prevent violence from rivalry.

Schooling should not be about self identity or about children expressing their rights as individuals. They can do that in their home time.

At school the kids are there to learn. At the same time I have a few problems with humanities lessons and religious studies in that they are lessons based on opinion rather than fact especially when it comes to religious studies.

I think uniform in school is a good thing and maybe schools have relaxed since I went to them brothwood but crosses certainly weren't allowed in my school. Didn't you get that teacher telling the urban myth about the girl who got her finger caught in a door whilst wearing a ring? This was their basic reasoning for no jewellery because you could lose your finger (or I guess with a cross your neck?).

On a completely off topic thing some of the things said at school were ridiculous. Terms like "You'll have your eye out with that". I wonder how many kids statistically have had their eye removed with a ball point pen, ruler or any other ridiculous implement that the teacher may have said that statement to.

Another great thing I remember about school was there was this guy called Mr Keeling who'd come around once or twice a year and he'd show all the kids various animals such as snakes, owls, etc.

He'd try and get you to stroke the owl with the usual statement of "Go on, its not going to hurt you". Forgive me if I don't trust you Mr Keeling but you have three fingers on one hand and an eye missing.

    Sorry got sidetracked.

it seems that the case against the afghan who converted to christianity as been dropped that doesnt mean hes safe as local clerics are whipping people up to tear him to pieces .
also they may just class him as being mad ,.

this sort of case happens all over the islamic world algeria in the last week or so made it illegal to preach other religions apart from islam to muslims , also they have made it illegal to convert if your a muslim
simular things are happening in I think morroco .
both of these countrys were seen as kinda liberal ...its a very bad business

The muslim scholars of the meddiveal ages were the ones who protected/translated/updated many ancient greek texts, which otherwise would have been lost.
Remember that whole 'dark' period Europe went though, and the renaissance, well that former couldn't have happened without christianity (they destroyed texts because there were snakes in them fer chrissakes) and the later couldn't have happened without Islam.

And it was Islamic countries that developed the principals behind distillation. So, you would never have had any scotch if there wasn't an Islam.
