no, there is digital broadcast. i have a newer tv (like a year old) and can use my remote to switch between digital and analog with a single button. digital broadcast ALREADY gets me more channels -AND- a better picture than digital cable on my parents older tv, with just a rabit ears set. they can and do broadcast in digital. free tv, crisp and clear, and with an info button! i should have brought my rabbit ears to school with me. i get better pics with that than on my current basic cable. if i was watching a broadcast channel i could switch to the rabbit ears and get a better image. and no static. if weather is really bad says "no signal" on the screen, no sound or image. if you can get a signal and something goes wrong, the digital version of static is when the stuff gets all caught up....like when a dvd or computer video messes up for a minute, exactly the same. no fuzz or hiss evvvvver though.... i dont think they're going to discontinue broadcast entirely are they? i mean if they can broadcast digitally, no reason to.
ha yeah he was. and he was on star trek but everyone knows that! he was the kind of guy who could kill niggas in the alley, and still have time to teach kids that reading is educational.
i never really watched star trek stuff. though i liked the olllld original programs alright...the other stuff never caught my attention though for some reason. i feel deprived
Not true.. they're just broad casting in digital. All you would have to pay for is a converter box. Or if you have a newer TV, nothing.
the bbc is the biggest mind control machine in this country. Who needs ETC when theres good old BBC They would have to catch you red handed to nick you ,if you dont turn the bugger on .your not breaking any law admit nothing dont let um in your home
still the same channels? abc, cbs, and nbc? or are they gonna broadcast more digital channels than they did analog? or did they already broadcast more and those three are all i picked up? and to nesta; i would love to download that file but my computer has very limited hard drive space. it might be time for a new one. care to list any of the essentials from that compilation? streaming would be awesome. (i don't ask for much)
i dont know what its like here since i didnt bring my rabbit ears (free cable in the dorm) but back home there was pbs, pbs hd (different programming, and of course hd) and then a pbs ohio channel. i also got fox. fox used to broadcast the tube as their second digital broadcast, so 24 hour music videos...they stopped doing that (in central ohio) a while ago now though. nbc+ nbc weather channel, abc and i think an auxilliary abc channel if i'm not mistaken...i may or may not have received cbs, i forget. i did get one other channel, too, though. so yeah, more channels than analog broadcast are currently offered, though generally by the same companies. well it really depends on what you want. i can list some top picks based on whether youre looking more for entertainment or education or whatever...and what substances interest you most...i dunno....but some of my personal favorites: hashish (documentary on moroccan hashish makers, but i deleted it early on since i have it on dvd anyway) cooking with marihuana - chef hans (video, no idea where else to find it but its probably out there. maybe youtube) the art and science of cooking with cannabis by adam gottlieb (a scan of the classic book, some good info) the joint roller's handbook (another scanned book....goofy but fun. got some great tips from it. it IS mostly available online elsewhere, but i'm unsure where) high times - cannabis cup (stupid dvd rip, but funny and amusing in parts and plenty of pretty shots of bud and hash) viva la coca (documentary about coca farmers) jungle trip - ayahuasca DMT - The Spirit Molecule by dr rick strassman (educational more than entertaining, but i can't recommend the book enough. its incredible) the pharmacratic inquisition - interesting, but annoying and poorly made...still worth a watch, with some interesting ideas presented theres LOTS or other REALLY good things in there though, many more entertaining. for entertainment while tripping or really really high, try timothy leary's video: how to operate your brain.....talk about sensory overload....
More channels I belive. Becuase I pick up FX for free and I thought that was a cable channel. But my older TV doesn't get it, so it must be a digital broadcast only. The whole things a ploy, more channels = more money for the network.
how to operate your brain if you aren't really stoned or tripping at least a little, it will be hard to get through it. it can really detach you if you let it, though, even if its pretty silly
