On the local news they have already broadcast all these school closings. good grief They must talk to my mother. :yikes: for everybody within this broadcast area ;)

I'm not going to believe I can't get my hair cut tomorrow until there is ice and sleet and perhaps snow too IN THE MORNING.

As y'all can see, my butt is still up at almost 3am and I still hear the patter of rain...haven't checked to see if its actually freezing or not. smh

DANG I hate it when I can't sleep to escape thinking.

I just saw what I think was a young raccoon on the porch eating the cat food. She looked so hungry. She saw me and ran...I'm must be getting both tired, looney and soft because I feel so bad that she ran off before eating what she could. I could see she was wet AND I know it was (probably) for the best she not get used to getting food here but still...I feel bad.

My outside Sam has been vanished for the last 3 or so days...last I saw him he was looking a bit bedraggled around the edges...about a week or more ago, I saw a queen around in the yard and I'm certain she was in heat. I saw another tom looking rather beat up (as opposed to bedraggled) the same day I saw Sam. Puss in heat will mess up a tom every time. AND yes, this is way too early for queens to go in heat. A good month too early.

My lenten roses (or hellebore) are starting to bloom, which is not supposed to be unusual. In fact they are known as the Christmas Rose.

However, since I've planted them (I have a bed of them that has spread) in the year 2001 they have never bloomed before late February at the very earliest, with it usually being the middle of March.

Yes, Ty, shyt in the natural world is off all around and about us...something strange this way comes.

I can't describe how white this lion is. So here's a black and white photo to show it.

This is not the classic setup for the urban middle section of NC or any part of SC to get a big snow. It's hitting the mountains first. We get a lot more when the storm comes to Atlanta first, going around the south end of mountains instead of going over the top.

The mountains of NC and VA are getting a lot, but I don't feel bad for them because they know how to handle it.

If Charlotte gets as much freezing rain as predicted, they're really fucked. You can barely walk on that shit, much less drive on it, and it butchers the trees. Power can go out for days. Any amount of dry snow is better.

I guess we'll leave our Jeep in the garage. There's nowhere to go at times like this. Everything is closed. I can do some work from home. Our biggest problem on the road is stupid drivers. We've been passed before by little Honda cars. When you're driving a basic Honda on a slick surface, you should never, ever be going faster than a Jeep. That's just crazy.

Depends how slow the Jeep goes ;)

If you got enough in the pantry and a good excuse to not travel what's not to love about a shitload of snow :-D

    Where are you brunching?!

Just the right speed for a serious 4WD vehicle. I once owned a Honda car. Comfy, reliable, and efficient in good weather, but nearly helpless in the snow. Old joke: Where is the safest place to stand near a Honda in the snow? Directly in front of it, the only direction it can't possibly go. :D But seriously, we have too many drivers who just drive normal in these situations and hope for the best. They don't change anything they do. They deserve whatever they get, but not their victims.

We stocked up last night at the liquor store. Priorities! [IMG]

I lived in the mountains for a few years. Did a lot of skiing. Nothing there stopped for a snowstorm. Nothing.

Here too, one day of slippery roads is a guaranteed peak in car accidents. Mainly because people are in the same rush as always and apparently simply expect/assume the roads to be the same as always too :p
Not sure it counts mainly for a particular kind of car brand and their owners though ;)

Well the weathermen have had their conniption. Just a little snow here. No biggie. We're dead center of the US, though. Apparently, the sky is falling on the East Coast today. Ya'll have fun with THAT.

Paint or sew today? Decisions, decisions.

All I know is that I'm not cooking. It's roomie's turn.

I was watching Catfish on MTV last night and the funniest Trump thing came on. At first, it looked like a Trump endorsement or ad. I was shocked at MTV. Trump?? Really? Until the end of it. Funniest thing I've seen in a while.
