I understand how you feel, and I'm not trying to insult you when I say that. I really truly understand what war can do, and I sympathise for your grandfathers pain

But Chill out, I don't want to fight. I don't want to insult you.

This is the nature of war. Life is almost too painfull sometimes. Life is a struggle to survive Jerry, nothing less.

But it's worth it. And so is fighting for what you believed in, and in the end, your grandfathers actions helped defeat a Japanese empire which had killed 20 million Chinese civilians.

It's hard to keep perspective when the worlds so complex, but Ruski and I don't mean to hit home with you.

Obviously Jerry is not going to shoot Lodui....but, he was trying to use a very personal experience to make people think about the ramifications of war...of course he's going to be emotional about it....who wouldn't??

Well I haven't really been paying much attention to what ruski said, I don't know about any of that.

But I don't think she meant it as a personal attack. I'm not trying to defend her though.

I'm just saying we all do have to deal with this kind of thing, and maybe she didn't handle it well, but she might just be like that.

But try to keep it all in perspevtive. War destroys what makes us human.

Even when it is worth it. And what we are as humans, which can be revolting at times, still means we need to look out for all our common defense.

Theres never a case of completly right or wrong in war. Nazi's are a perfect example, evil racist genocidal fuckers.

But the people in Germany, were destitute after world war one. Nobody could send their children to school. The people we're convinced by a few racists in European literature who blamed austria-hungary and germanys defeat on traitors in the government, notebly jewish population.

Nobody was educated and everyone was poor. When someone comes along to convince you of traitors and promises to resotore the power of their nation? Of course the poor and people who lacked any persepective on it because they didn't have any eductational oppurtunities bouthgt into this.

What resulted was the genocide of 10 million people. Despite all the victims of germany, did this justify the Nazi's? of course not.

Was war the only war to stop germany? Yes.

But this is the nature of people. Most people have a common good in their minds. War is the beggining of civilization.

Civilization promises peace to everyone, but only if they eliminate threats.

But without civilazation, tribal rapists war is all that awaits us.

Our only hope is too evolve. And in that evolution, war may be nessecary to help the innocent.

But try to keep things in perspective. Ruski may be rude, I don't know her that well. But she didn't know what you were going through.

But every single person on earth is a slightly evolved killer ape whos sole goal in life is to survive and protect thier own. Only till we evolve to the point that we're all our kind can we ever live in peace.

In every war, there are heros on both sides. That's because the only way most people will fight is if they think what their fighting for is right.

This might sound like some hippy bullshit and it is.

But we all have to do what we can. Lack of perspective and knowledge is what keeps every person on earth from evolving to what potential we have.

All we can do in the mean time is try to figure out whats best. Holding a grudge over something mean someone said over the internet won't help.

Take care of yourself Jerry, and trust me, I really understand how you feel. My grandfathers a veteran. He doesn't talk about it, and I know that's because he feels conflicted.

 

Everyone who tries to look at both sides will feel conflicted.

And that is because the people who fight for either side, will almost always be doing what they feel is right.

People are easily influenced. Even the people influincing them are almost always doing what they think is right.

What is right about humanity, is almost always, people as a whole will almost always try to due what they think is right.

The evil of humanity, is their easily swayed and naive. It is the naivity, and the still primative understanding we have about most issues.

It was my understanding that this was a "FREE SPEECH" forum. We're all allowed to say exactly what we wish. I honestly think that this was completely blown out of proportion. Jerry, if Ruski hurt your feelings, fine. Tell her that. Threatening to stock her posts, threating to shoot Loudi, etc. is barbaric, completely uncalled for and just plain sad. What is your problem? Like I said in my first post, if you have so much problems with your grandfather and what he did, maybe you should make an effort ON YOUR OWN PART to help make amends -- join a group that aids in the recovery of war victims, talk to your grandfather about it. It's not mine, or Ruski's or Loudi's or anyone else's fault what your grandfather did. Those are his own choices and he has to live iwth them. What you're doing is lashing out at us over something that you have absolutely no control over. Your advice to not join the military is just that -- advice. What your response is to other people stating their opinions is ignorant violence, which is exactly what your grandfather has to live with every day of his life, if I understand this. I really think you need to get away from the computer and deal with the situation at home before you get on here and start shooting your mouth off.

I expect a backlash, and you're welcome to it -- as I said, this is a free speech forum, and you're welcome to call me whatever name your creative mind can come up with, it certainly isn't going to bother me.
