and to anyone reading and reporting on this thread, don't you think the mod is reading the thread she is posting in? said person is NOT posting in thread so far, so no blame games
But that doesn't mean that meat'll make you smart. Did you know that all of these highly intelligent people were vegetarian at least ONCE in their lifetime?: Benjamin Franklin Thomas Edison Leonardo da Vinci Albert Einstein Pythagoras Leonardo Da Vinci, Pythagoras, and Thomas Edison were vegetarian throughout their whole life. Albert Einstein was vegetarian in the last couple of years, and he once even said: "I feel as though we were not created to eat meat." Benjamin Franklin was a temporary vegetarian. Did meat make them smarter? No.Leonardo, Pythagoras, and Thomas never even ate it. And I believe they were a lot more intelligent Then ANYONE here... Including omnivores. BTW: Here's a List of notable vegetarians: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_notable_vegetarians
In response to the post about science needing to be used to discredit any correllations between meat consumption and brain development: (By the way, this is just a response; don't take this to be said in an "angry" tone or anything, I'm just presenting my point of view =) The first thing I'd like to say is, it's not common knowledge that brain development and meat consumption are related. If science must be used to disprove this correllation, it must first be used to PROVE this correllation, which the original poster HAS NOT done, and thus, my use of logic and not of science is entirely valid, until the poster backs up what he has said with scientific evidence. The poster has been using, so far, only the logic that "we got big brains when we started eating meat." By that logic, a tyrannosaurus rex should have had a super-advanced brain, but ... heck, they don't. So, his logic is invalid. My logic, the statement that there can be no correllation between meat consumption alone and brain development, is entirely valid, and doesn't need scientific evidence to back it up, unless the former statement (which attempts to show a correllation) also has scientific evidence to back it up. Thus ... I don't have to disprove it, until the poster proves it. =) In the meantime, I can do a little bit here and there to show how his logic is flawed, but that's all.
if meat eating has made us capable of doing so much in the world and caused us to be so smart why are we facing a pandemic of an avian flu strain? why are the animals we breed for consumption treated so inhumanely? why are we facing so many environmental problems? why are some of these problems related to our consumption of meat? if we are so smart because of all this meat we consume why don' we have a handle on this?
and explain to me please why there are veg*n athletes (jamie thomas, james parsley, will brown, margarita gast, dave scott to name a few) who have excelled in their athletics, but you couldn't?
