Its all opinion. Its cool. For me, Phish gives me exactly what i want. they have wonderful orchestrated songs and groovy jam monsters and some time they break down into loop and feedback jams that i just can't get enough of.....they are my favorite band for sure....

Not even close. You must not know much about Panic, also anyone who sais RATdog is a just cover band should slap themselves. Thats defintaly not Weirs idead behind ratdog. Ratdog basicaly is the continuation of the dead. . . For me Ratdog and Widespread can take me places Phish never could. Either way everyone heres music differently so its not really worth an argument.

moe. live is incredible - don't knock it til you've been there. if you've been there, my apologies but they're awesome. maybe i'm just biased. give Panic some props thought, too. another band that could be huge is New Monsoon - laugh if you want but i've been listening to some of their live shows & they're hot!!! Phish had their day. i like Phish but stick a fork in it already. unless Trey gets his shit straight there won't be a second coming i'm sorry to say.

im 18, and i got to see em 5 times including coventry (worst ending ever!). Each show was real powerful for me and that relization you had hit me walking out of coventry. I knew id never see em again. I didnt listen to them for about a year, and it let me discover tons of new music. Now i listen almost exclusively to the Disco Biscuits. you should really check them out. besides, dont worry, phish will be back in a year or two. no doubt in my mind. My sis knows the drummers brother and thats the word in the neighborhood.

After Jerry died, I jumped on the PHiSH bandwagon and toured with them for a few years(Just a few shows a year tho) I think maybe 50 shows. They put on some amazing shows, and they put out some Trey drug/alcohol induced shit.I always said when Trey came here solo that he was only 1/4 of one of my favourite bands.

Then at a show in Atlanta 7/3/99 someone told me about WP.I am so glad she did. After that I still saw some PHiSH shows, but I saw my first Panic show at Deer Creek 7/8/01 and was hooked on that first show. Now the only bands I will travel to see are WP,and Govt. Mule. I will go to local shows and see others tho. My latest show was Umphrey's Mcgee at the Murat Egyptian Room here in Indy.2 good shows!

    I like Ratdog
    UM
    String Cheese Incident
    Disco Biscuits
    moe.
    Keller Williams
    Karl Denson
    Dirty Dozen Brass Band
    Galactic
Just about anyone who played the first Bonnaroo.

I could go on and on....

Too many good bands out there to see instead of waiting on Trey to get his head out of his ass.
I am not holding my breath on another tour. It would be cool if they did tho.

I've never heard New Monsoon but I guess I need to now.

All I'm saying is Widespread Panic is realer than real. The Mikey Days are still the best to me but Panic is still gettin' it done.

Pay close attention because thats the mark of a great band.

Panic lost their best and founding guitar player to cancer and two guitar players later they are still kicking ass and keeping it real!

Panic is back in full force Jimmy rips that shit to shreads. Obviously the best years were with Mikey considering that was what Widespread Panic really is.

Like you'd know, considering you were all of what....9 back in 94/95?

it's pretty cliche to call someone else cliche even though THEY experienced it firsthand, while you were still playing G.I.Joe and had no clue.......And then turn around and act like YOU know something about phish. Alot of the phans are all the same, they've all got that over-inflated ego/self-importance.....guess they pick it up from trey....

so the 50-60 shows i have from 94 and 95 give me no frame of reference? i have hundreds of Phish shows and have seen many Phish shows, regaurdless of age, i think i can form an opinion. And one who writes off Phish's career to only two years, doesn't know what they are talking about. but it is just opinion. but in the context in which it was stated, showed that it wasn't a well formed opinion, but came across more as a regurgitated cliche.....its nice and easy to say the "94/95" thing when Phish is not a band your a big fan of and you want to beliddle their career......this is a band that played for 20+ years, there was alot of good stuff....
