zep, floyd, beatles...do i have to continue?

 

My mom is more into hair bands like poisin and guns and roses. also Rod Stewart.
My Dad listens to country and from Aerosmith to ZZ Top.
I listen to almost everything. Hip-hop, dance, techno, trance all suck.
im a major led zeppelin fan, Blood brothers fan, and so on and so forth.

 

both my parents have great taste in music. not nearly as broad as mine, but still, they're respectable. dad's favorite bands are the animals (he saw eric burton over the weekend, I'm little upset... I didn't know he was coming), warren zevon, supertramp, manfred mann's earth band, bob marley, savoy brown, and lots of old blues. mom likes all the "traditional" rock greats like the beatles, pink floyd, zepplin, dylan; but she's (kinda) receptive to new stuff coming out as well. I say kinda because it takes a few years for her to catch up. ie: she doesn't like it while it's popular, but after all the fuss dies down she'll fall in love. for example, she loves nirvana, nine inch nails, and slowly but surely she's coming around to electronica; she was rocking out to portishead over the weekend

 

oh Culture Club? I love them! My mom totaly hates them though.. she's sort of into Avril Lavigne, Lillix, and The Calling, and Norah Jones.... but she's not into music that was popular in the 80s.

my mom loves 80's pop music. nuff said

my dad likes a lot of music. I owe knowing Pink Floyd before my ABC's to him. He also likes disco, old country like Johnny Cash, and some wierd stuff like Sheryl Crow and Will Smith. He has a really wide taste in music. It's cool.

 

i think music can tell a lot about parents...really anyone

 

My mum listens to whatever I wanna listen to, but she really likes black sabbath, van halen and whatnot...She likes Led Zeppelin too..

My stepdad listens to whatevers on the rock station, but he likes Metallica, Audioslave, Zeppelin and stuff like that..

 

My real dad mainly listens to country...but he also likes Led Zeppelin, ZZtop, Lynyrd Skynyrd and stuff like that.. (actually..this could be totally different, or maybe right-on..but I wouldnt know..he coulda changed tastes since I last saw him...)

I do remember him liking Rod Stewart a lot...

My mom sang me beatles songs as when i was a babe, white album yellow submarine kinda stuff. I never grew out of it, thats for sure. Dad didnt do much in the way of music, a bit of jazz at times. Maybe thats where I picked up the strange fondness for clarinet!

 

my mom is very 60's she loves bob dylan with her life, and i know every beatles song thanks to her and my dad. but she also likes jazz and big band too. she is very diverse in what she listens to almost anything from the 1920s-1975 she listens to.

my dad was more of a 1965-1985 he likes everything from the beatles to zeppelin to motley crue.

i have 5 other siblings so bare with me.

my oldest brother is still struck in the grunge era. thats he main music interest but he also listens to stuff like black sabbath, deep purple, the more heavy rock. oh and hes a huge zeppelin fan.

my other brother is a definate hippy (sorry to be labeling, but he is) so we get along the best really and he listens to late 60s- early 80s.

my oldest sister listens to whatever is on TRL. but she can appriciate good music when she hears it.

my other sister is a HUGE jam fan. any sort of local jam band she knows them, personally probably. and goes to tons of shows. she likes classic rock to which most people who listen to jam do.

and lastly my 3rd oldest brother listens to emo and screamo and whatever else ends with an "o".

I have a lot to say about my older brother, but I'll just stick to this: he has a tattoo of Limp Bizkit's logo on his leg. Yeah... that is all.

 

i like bands like led zeppelin, grateful dead, the doors, bob marley, bob dylan, nick drake, elliot smith, anti flag, blink 182, green day and so on

my brother is into anti flag, rancid, op ivy, river city rebels (basically all punk) then also emo like taking back sunday and yet he can still dig some zeppelin and mars volta

my mom likes anything that would be on the radio back in the 70s and 80s

my dad likes sabbath and ozzy but also likes heart and sarah mclocklan

Well my dad likes jazz especially calm and smooth jazz But he's also a fan of Genesis . he listens to a lot of quebec french songwriters like Paul PichŽ and stuff . He likes also Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell and Carole King .

My mom likes french music like jacques brel, george brassens, edith piaf and charles aznavour ... She also has a Simon and Garfunkel Cd.

For myself i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the doors ... I hate the musical tastes of my mother but my father and i we are both fan of a quebecker prog rock group named harmonium . So my dad and i we get along well ... for the music

 

I listen to my parents music.. 60's and 70's rock.. I was lucky and inherated all their vinyl

 

- My mom is not fan of music...a long time ago she likes Elton John a lot but when i told her that he was homosexual...she just don't hear it anymore (i regret now ...i feel guilty)

- My father well he is dead nearly 10 years ago but ...he was a fan of jacques Brel, when in the 70's he smoked hash then he often listened to Pink Floyd...but the definitive love of his life was the Rolling Stones...he was a fanatic...

Then i've got 4 bro and none sister:

- the older David like Depeche Mode , The Cure, Interpol (i make him discover this great band), Mike Oldfield, Nathalie Imbruglia...(here the things start to go wrong... no comment)

- the 2nd, Michel, like Coldplay,Red Hot, The Verve,Nirvana, Oasis, Likin Park, Garbage...it's not a great fan of music ...he's open to everything ...he hear music just to pass the time

-Me, well it's always the same old stuff and some new

-Then Philippe he's birth just 10 month after me ! and we have the same musical connection , he likes all classic rock and pop album from 65 to 75 but some hard rock too (until 82), and pop like elton john , billy joel etc...

-Then the last one, and the less interessent, Jean-François , he like commercial stupid stuff like Avril Lavigne, all those television stars (popstars), Usher and nearly everything that will be a hit .
