What I mean is I follow Asatru and the god I devote mainly to is Odin, another name he is known for is Wodan.
I know that, was trying to get you to share more what it means to you when you say that....btw...I am a Godman {Gothi}
i put celtic, firstly i was drawn to norse gods, after i went through my norwegian black metal phase, and then i started to look into celtic things (i live in wales) i wanted to find out which tribes my family most likely belonged to and learn what that tribe believed, but its very hard cos my family comes from all over wales and a tincy bit from scotland, and even if i did know te tribe, most people have different views on what different celts beleived
Most all IndoEuropean people share the same core beliefs..which make up the largest majority of the worldview, with only small tribal beliefs being the only differences. The Cymru are the fringe of the pre-Roman, pre-Anglo tribes of the P Celtic branch of the IndoEuropean language tree. I am of british decent, and have enough L's and Y's in my family names to own half of Wales lol, but turned to mainland celtic beliefs, such as the Gauls, as a way to get a better understand of the broader scope of what the Insular Celts of the same stock believed. Of course, the led me all the way back to ProtoIndoEuropean reconstruction, and that just put everything in its proper place.
I think the proper question is, did the gypsies have gods particular to them. Not are there "gypsy gods"...because the gods are not gypsies. The gypsy (roma) were from India orignally, and their pantheon is based on that, some adopted Roman pantheon, some Slavic. Depends on where they were. All were IndoEuropean in root, for the most part. Look to Gypsy witchcraft as well.
I pay my respects to any deity who reveals themselves to me in dreams and helps me out. Namely; Hathor and Brighid.
i am scandinavian and welsh/english by heritage and a bit jewish, but i am a mix of norse( Hel, Odin, Nott, and Tyr) shintoist, and some buddism
If you look at the whole "pie" of your ancestoral ways, you would not need anything from shinto and buddism. They all have the same elements, but occasional conflicts in points of view. Buddism came out of the same Indo-European roots as the Nordic/Germanic faiths, and though the cultural differences are there, the core worldview is the same. Shinto has some IE roots as well...and is not all that different from the more Vanic cults of the North.
I'm usually attracted to any European pantheon for some reason. I couldn't put myself in only one of those categories.
