I hate how California is so fake and industrialized, I cant wait till I can move out of here. No one actually tries to look you in the eye and be honest with you. D:

dirtbag redneck meth head trailer parks, gang violence, living next door to people for twenty years and never so much as getting a wave hello from them. EVERYTHING is far away enough that you have to drive to it. you can't go to the beach broke, because parking is $5 at least. nothing lasts, at all, ever. the lifestyle will suck the soul out of anyone. people are tense and cranky all the time, because they're busting their asses to afford their overpriced homes. and let's not forget, the sheer number of christian groups handing out leaflets and yelling at you when you don't want them. and that's coastal. at least the bible belters assume you're already "saved."

 

don't forget water quality warnings and air quality reports.

mid eastern border of cali around lake tahoe i cannot say i have any complaints about. ive never lived there so i probabbly cannot say anything as far as taxes and long term expenses go, but the people there are great. everybody i sooo nice, it made me so comfortable that nobody was superficial or snobby up there. i'm guessing the housing prices are a bit expensive in that area though, but maybe not. The climate was beautiful, and i wouldnt mind a harsh winter. I was there during the summer though.

either way, better than the shitty south florida. where its a sauna every day in the summer when you walk outside, it truely is unbearable. it honestly makes you miserable just walking outside of your house because no matter how many layers of clothes you remove or wear, you still cant figure out if you are sweating or just wet from the air. its discusting. there is maybe 2 weeks out of the year that the florida weather is likeable. and that is when it is cool (60s on the COLDEST day, but averages to about 70 for that week until you get to the afternoon where it goes back up to 80). Fuck humidity. if you want to live in florida, move to the middle of the state.

 

I live in cali dipshit. Born and fucking raised.

On a side note, the reason why other countries aren't nearly as free and can't strive is because of the U.S. involvement in civil matters and policy.

I think this is kind of lame because I would say beyond CA being expensive most of these reasons can be attributed to pretty much any city. Sure you'll find fake people here but you'll find them pretty much anywhere. I've lived in LA for 5 years and all the friends I've met are pretty awesome and will be life long friends. The weather is amazing, the natural beauty is great. I can drive 45 minutes from my door and I can be in the mountains. That's pretty special. Sure there are bad things but for me the good definitely outweighs the bad.

 

The nicest part of california has to be the santa cruz mountains.

yes, it is expensive. but everyone i know is managing themselves fine as long as they work full-time. the weather and the beach are beautiful, parking is free here, and everyone i associate with are completely laid-back. i guess it depends on the city you live in. there are materialistic people everywhere. it's a 45 - 60 min drive to LA or to santa barbara, to the beach, the mountains, lakes... i have nothing to complain about.

 

anyone know what part of socal has the least amount of materialism and the most hippies? haha

so far i like cali a LOT better than virginia... fuck, any of the east coast, lol!

but i do get annoyed at the drivers here. they are rude. i like how hippy sonoma county is, but it's so damn expensive, and some parts are pretty superficial. like i'm not a good enough hippy because i don't spend a lot of money to live in a special eco-friendly housing development, or buy all my groceries at the most expensive health food store in town. it's wierd.

i just wish there were more jobs around here. that's all! otherwise, i like it. haven't been through a winter yet though... we'll see how cold it gets.
