Youth Wasted

while i don't think you should keep your mouth shut, cuz i do appreciate this thread, quite a lot....i'm gonna disagree with you on what you just said...

Lynsey was the person who helped me think that life was too short to worry about every little thing. she helped me realize that i was havign fun last year with my friends, because before i was thinking i was a major screw up and would never accomplish nothing. i enjoy life now, more because of her and the things we've talked about. its not just partying that gives me the opportunity to have fun...i mean, i had a great night last night just chilling with my friends watching basketball and talking and listening to music - thats what i cherish now.

hopefully this doesn't turn into an argument, cuz this is a really good thread, just wanted to share my litte piece...

 

hmmm...wow Gary I am impressed with myself I've never seen you let anyone get to you like that. seems as if I struck some sort of cord with you as I did not resort to calling you names as you just did with me...I would expect someone of your age and experience to have more self-control

 

Self control does not mean hiding what you feel.

Fitzy, thats fine if you know her in a different way, I would never hold it against you that you like someone that i don't.

same here...and i don't expect you to either. i have no problems with that...enjoy life as best you can, thats me motto now

 

just seems like a huge waste of time and energy to expend on somone you don't even know... not to mention getting riled up over people you don't know, like nor even care about is not productive nor good for your health...good luck to you Gary

that's really sad. I don't enjoy trying to 'trash' people I don't know or make them feel bad about themselves...if that's how you define yourself and you are comftrable with it than go ahead. If 'trashing' me makes you happy then I am just going to put you on ignore right now so you can continue getting your laughs and pleasures. have a happy day I hope you get to call me lots of names so you can really 'enjoy' yourself.

EDIT:lynsey, cool, if you can't handle it, then by all means put me on ignore, at least I'll still be up to date on all of your mom's money you spent on clothes each day.

Seamonster I mean this with the greatest respect, so please don't take it the wrong way, but do you think that trashing lynsey is also bullying her?
even if she has got charater traits that you find unattractive?

Thanks for your input, yes maybe I am, but i don't follow her around bothering her, if she says something to me that i don't like, i will not hold back. I can be a fiery person, and essentially everything about her annoys me. Do I feel sorry about doing it? no. i don't view her as a sympathetic character.

Its kind of like, what would you do if all the traits you don't like were rolled up into one person, and you would never meet that person, only get a chance to comment on their words, why should you not say what you feel?

I think its just clear you two will never get on, but if you wanted too maybe you could bash it out on a thread with someone mediating- you never know you may find you have a lot in common (ok I'm hiding now!)

haha, i doubt we do, and frankly it's not worth worrying about. I've just had enough of her, and this goes back a ways. It's not a big deal, it won't stop me, or her from posting here. i just don't like her style, no big deal. here in the eastern half of america we slug it out, while in the west people often take an "its all good" type of attitude. maybe what you are seeing here is a clash of those two worlds.

I just don't see any reason to sugar coat anything at all on here, I'm not going to lose sleep over anything, i just find it kind of entertaining.

 

or maybe it shows strengh of charater that she hasn't- I don't believe anyones all bad

(Still of the opinion that we all have our own path, our own way of getting to our goals and as long as it doesn't hurt folks there's nothing wrong with any given path)

 

My opinion is, if you can't deal with criticism, then don't give it out. i can deal with it. I never have, and never will put anyone on ignore. People have trashed me, but I can take it, and I know that maybe sometimes I have it coming. I'm not so egocentric that I think no one can call me on shortcomings, I even appreciate it when they do.

believe it or not, I get a lot from these forums in that respect. Sometimes it helps me to figure out exactly what i do believe. I think thats key to a forum, aside from having many pen pals I never would have had, it allows me to interact with types of people I never would otherwise.

I would just suggest finding a balance. I myself have never had a problem maintaining straight As and "partying my ass off" at the same time. It is not difficult for me to put my education first, and not get out of the house until I have all my work done. I know how to finish it well and fast... and then still have time to go out and party the night away. Everyone must find that balance within them. It might be easy for some, harder for others will less will power... yet it is possible. I discourage my close friends from drinking, smoking, etc. if they do not have thier work finished and slowly try to create a balance in thier lives.

Youth wasted?

I disagree. Most people on these forums are much better off intellectually than most people I know. People here come to discuss, the young counteract with the old, thoughts are created, ideas are shared. Even if some people here are depressed, it does not mean that thier youth is wasted; some peolpe take more pleasure in suffering than in happiness. They could be spending all thier lives watching football on TV, but instead they choose to participate in positive socialization, hone thier argument skills, and learn, learn, learn on these forums.
