How did I miss this thread? (I've been waiting for him to be born.) Funky, I am SOOOOOO glad everything looks well for him. We were pretty worried about this little dude. I'm glad he's home now. Things will be better. Take care, mama. I'm sorry I didn't see this thread until now. He's absolutely lovely.
Oh my goodness, congratulations sweetheart! I am so happy to hear that things are looking so well for little Zion! Awesome! He's a beautiful little boy. Many congrats to you and your family. {{{HUGE HUGS}}}
Bet it isn't as cute as Zion. I wanna SMELL him. I love that new baby smell. Funky, does he smell great? When my babies were little, I would just bury my nose in their cheeks. Saw a 9 day old at my LLL meeting today. Mama was too much in mama cloud for me to hold him. I remember those days. And she was tandem nursing. What a trooper. Funky, were you able to nurse him yet? It's hard in the NICU. You know I'm here, if you need anything.
in nicu they let me nurse a little bit but i pumped and they kept it in their fridge he is eating like a pig at home, were having to supplement with formula a bit because when he is done breastfeeding the monster is still hungry.......... i cant make the milk fast enough for him, but he gained a pound LOL he is still doing great. he is a good baby, sleeps and eats, think he has night and day confused but he should get used to the whole night time thing eventually..... but during the day i actually have time to do things LOL he will sleep thru just about any noise we make..............................
Your milk will probably catch up, Funky. Just keep at it,nurse REALLY frequently, and pump (if you can) to help the process along. I am SO glad he is well. There were a lot of good thoughts, prayers ect going out to you and that little boy. He's in good hands, I am sure. Keep up the good work.
the hospital sent a pump home, the things suction is... oh my god! lol feeding him was a vacation from pumping LOL! Here are some more pictures and one of him making the mean face =) after getting all scratched up.... were choppin off those nails today
Can you turn the suction down, funky? Which pump do you have? I know the Lactina has suction control on the syringe thingy attached to the arm, and both the Classic and the Symphony have suction control as well. You don't need it turned up high to get milk out. But I am so glad he is on the breast. You'll be returning that pump in no time. I have always found babies much nicer than pumps, but if you need one, at least they are there. Couldn't get them when I had my first baby. More nursing, and in a few days to a week or so, I'll bet you'll catch up and won't need that nasty pump anymore. Keep up the good work, Mama.
it does have suction control but when i first turn the pump on its like hell HAHAHA well not that bad, but it is uncomfortable HAHA the pump is nice incase i need to make bottles or something to freeze just incase....................... it does have suction controll but I wold still rather feed him than pump....
